My Story

Medicine was never just a career choice for me — it was a calling shaped by compassion, curiosity, and a deep desire to understand children beyond symptoms.

I am Dr. Darshita Shukla Gautam, a trained Paediatrician with advanced specialization in Paediatric Endocrinology, dedicated to helping children grow — not just physically, but holistically.

My journey began at L.N. Medical College, Bhopal, where I completed my MBBS. To deepen my passion for child health, I pursued my MD in Paediatrics from Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Pune, where I completed three intensive years of residency training.

Advanced Specialization – Paediatric Endocrinology

To further refine my expertise in growth and hormonal disorders, I pursued a prestigious 2-year Fellowship in Paediatric Endocrinology at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi (Dec 2022 – Dec 2024).

My fellowship training included management of:
• Growth disorders and short stature
• Early and delayed puberty
• Thyroid disorders in children
• Type 1 Diabetes
• Obesity and metabolic disorders
• PCOS in adolescents
• Bone and calcium disorders

I believe growth reflects overall health — including nutrition, hormones, genetics, and emotional well-being.

Clinical Training & Experience

During my MD residency, I gained hands-on experience across:
• Paediatric Outpatient Services
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• Super-Speciality Paediatric Clinics

Following my residency, I worked as a Senior Resident in Paediatrics at Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences, Uttar Pradesh (2021–2022), where I independently managed inpatient and outpatient cases.

I completed my compulsory rotatory internship at J.K. Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Bhopal.

Academic Excellence & Research

I strongly believe in evidence-based medicine and continuous academic growth.

• Published research article in the Journal of Pediatric Neurosciences on:
‘Etiological spectrum and predictors of intractability in early onset epilepsy (3 months – 2 years)’

• Completed thesis on:
‘A study on clinical profile of epilepsy in children aged 3 months to 2 years’

• Presented research papers at Child Neuro Con 2021 and UNMESH 2020
• Presented poster on Kasabach-Merritt Syndrome

I am also certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
